In 2012, Seiko was able to release World’s First GPS Solar watch, Seiko Astron GPS Solar. During that precise time, Seiko was able to develop low energy consumption GPS receiver watch which receives GPS signal and identifies time zone, time and date form the GPS satellites. It recognizes all the 39 time zones on earth.

By connecting to the GPS network, the Astron adjusts at the touch of a button to your time zone and, by taking all the energy it needs from light alone, never needs a battery change.
